Cops detain five civil servants, seize drugs in KL nightclub raid


KUALA LUMPUR: Five civil servants were detained in a raid of a Jalan Puchong night club here.

Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Amihizam Abdul Shukor said the government personnel were found in a room at the club during the raid at about 11.45pm on Friday (Oct 28).

"We also seized various drugs from the room including 0.87g of methamphetamine and 5.65g of ganja. Four of the suspects tested positive for drugs," he said when contacted on Sunday (Oct 30).

A local man who was the club caretaker, three Bangladeshi workers and a Vietnamese waitress were also detained, said ACP Amihizam.

"We will investigate the civil servants for various criminal offences as well as disciplinary infringements.

"The drugs seized could have been supplied to 10 people," he added.

ACP Amihizam said police were still investigating the source of the drugs.
