KUALA LUMPUR: Entertainment, lifestyle and breaking news portal mStar walked away a winner at the d Awards, organised by the Malaysian Digital Association (MDA).

mStar, which is owned by Star Media Group, clinched the Silver award for the Best Digital Publisher of The Year category on Wednesday (May 11).

Reacting to the win, mStar product head Mohd Fuad Mohd Noor said it was a great honour for mStar to attain the highly-recognised award from the MDA.

"The biggest honour goes to our team members who supported the portal to attain its overwhelming success over the past year.

"Success is sweeter with continual growth and progress. Hence, I want to humbly convey my utmost thanks to all of our loyal readers for their continued support," he added.

Star Media Group chief content officer Esther Ng also congratulated mStar for their exemplary efforts.

"This is a great honour. Ours is a small but effective team, and our hard work is paying off. Our thanks to our loyal readers who have been with us from day one. We will continue giving you our best," she added.

Launched in 2005, mStar currently holds the pole position as the nation's leading Bahasa Malaysia lifestyle, entertainment and breaking news portal.

Using viral lingo, mStar offers breaking news and daily updates on the hottest talk of the town.

Held at Bangsar Shopping Centre's Ruyi & Lyn this year, MDA's d Awards recognises and honours the talents, agencies, brands, publishers and digital service providers that embrace and use digital technologies.

This year, there were 151 entries across 18 categories.
