Health Ministry to publish new testing guidelines for Covid-19

PETALING JAYA: The Health Ministry will be publishing the new National Testing Strategy which will serve as a guideline for when Malaysians should undergo Covid-19 tests.

Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the document would be published at the Ministry’s website on Friday (Oct 22) morning.

"The national testing strategy will guide Malaysians on Covid-19 tests in various situations, such as at workplaces, schools, university, concerts, conventions or at stadium events. The document will make it clear on when and how often you need to be tested," said Khary at a press conference on Thursday (Oct 21).

Malaysia is expected to transition from the Covid-19 pandemic into an endemic phase.

This means that the Malaysian public will have to learn how to live with the virus, as more sectors would be reopened.

Having a concise strategy on Covid-19 testing is a key part of moving into an endemic phase.
