The Star Media Group Berhad beat Top Glove 3-0 in a badminton friendly match held at Setia Badminton Academy at Section U13, Setia Alam in Shah Alam, recently.
It was truly a great occasion as representatives from both companies exchanged contacts and had a good time mingling with food and drinks served before the match. Souvenirs were also given to each player after the match.
Top Glove human resource manager Gurmeet Kaur said the friendly match was part of networking between Top Glove staff and the media.
“In fact, the company motto’s is very health conscious. We subsidise fitness membership up to 80% for staff and give out dental kits to staff and their family members on a yearly basis.
“We also hold monthly tournaments for various sports such as football, badminton and futsal.
“Corporate nutritionist will monitor the staff’s health and weight regularly. They also ensure that food served in the canteen is clean and healthy,’’ she said.
Star Media Group Berhad team captain Nelsen Ng said this was the first time the team was playing against a prestigious and well-respected company, who was one of the sponsors of the popular Kopiko Purple League and emphasised on the company employees staying healthy.
“Winning or losing is secondary as what is more important is that both sides compete in good spirits while it also served as a networking session and to foster ties between both companies,’’ he said.
