BUNTONG residents are set to enjoy improved public amenities following a RM200,000 federal allocation to upgrade the Kampung Tersusun Jalan Sungai Pari community hall.
Ipoh Barat MP M. Kulasegaran said the upgrades were being carried out through the Perak State Development Office.
The Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform) said the improvements were aimed at providing more comfortable and conducive facilities for the local community.
“In addition, an allocation of RM50,000 through a special contribution from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has been channelled to 10 Rukun Tetangga (RT) Areas in Ipoh Barat parliamentary constituency.
“The allocation will be used for Bakul Rahmah distribution programmes for RT members in need, to ease their burden and safeguard local welfare,” he said when launching the “Madani Kita Programme” (PMK) with the Buntong community, reported Bernama.
The one-day programme featured 35 exhibition booths by government agencies and departments, as well as various goods sold at reasonable prices.
Kulasegaran said PMK benefitted the public by bringing government services directly to the community, making them integrated and easily accessible.
He said it provided a platform for two-way interaction between the people and the government, enhancing understanding of government policies and initiatives while strengthening cooperation among government agencies, communities, non-governmental organisations and the private sector.
“More importantly, the programme fosters a spirit of togetherness, neighbourliness and volunteerism, helping build a community that not only benefits from development, but also serves as a strategic partner to the government in building a prosperous society and a harmonious nation.”
