BEGINNING Oct 1, a campaign featuring Pokemon-themed decorations and activities will transform a mall in Kuala Lumpur.
The Pokémon Company said in a statement that the mall-wide campaign would feature four rotating themes – Pikachu as well as fire-type, grass-type and water-type Pokemon.
“Visitors can also take part in a series of Pokemon-themed activities and rewards, such as gift redemptions, colouring and crafting at Ombak KLCC’s concourse.
“For those looking to get hands-on with Pokemon video games, Ombak KLCC will also host trial play sessions for the latest game, including Pokémon Pokopia and Pokémon Champions.
“Trial sessions for the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) New Trainer Journey will also be held, where fans can learn how to play Pokémon TCG and receive rewards such as demo decks and reward vouchers to redeem original-design TCG accessories,” the company said.
Earlier in conjunction with Pokemon’s 30th anniversary, KLCC Park was transformed into a Pokemon-filled wonderland through the two-day PokéXciting! event, which featured a lineup of immersive experiences and Pokemon-themed decorations.
“Activities such as Pokégenic, Pokémon Meet & Greet, Pokémon Kids TV and installations of larger-than-life Pokemon statues and balloons created plenty of opportunities for fans to explore, discover and interact with the pocket monsters.
“Additionally, in the mobile game Pokémon GO, fans were able to catch the PokéXciting! Pikachu with a local location background and enjoy a region-unique stamp rally.
“The GO Stamp Rally in KLCC Park will remain available for one month after the event date,” added The Pokémon Company.
It said the Pikachu Parade and PokéXciting! Parade, which were the event’s highlights, marked the debut of the PokéXciting! Pikachu in Malaysia.
“The turquoise PokéXciting! Pikachu brought a lively party spirit to Kuala Lumpur, joined by Pokemon favourites such as Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Eevee and Pikachu in the energetic parade.
“As evening fell, the excitement continued with the PokéXciting! Special Night Show, before culminating in a very first spectacular Pokemon Drone Show lighting up the city skyline in a dazzling aerial display.”
