Acknowledging the resilience of print media in a digital age, MCA secretary-general Datuk Chong Sin Woon praised Star Media Group (SMG) for delivering genuine news as a reliable counter-narrative to misinformation.

“Print media faces many challenges, but I must congratulate The Star for keeping up with the times, transforming and adapting to the new era,” he said during a courtesy visit to SMG headquarters, Menara Star in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

To spread the festive cheer, the group presented mandarin oranges, snacks and kuih to SMG employees.

Sin Woon and his entourage, which included Wanita MCA secretary-general Chan Quin Er and MCA Youth deputy chief Chong Yew Chuan, were welcomed by SMG group chief executive officer Chan Seng Fatt before they made a visit to radio station 988 FM.

Also present were members of SMG top management, including chief operating officer Lydia Wang, chief content officer Datin Paduka Esther Ng and Star Radio Business senior general manager Woo Bee Ay.
