THE Great Asean Excellence Awards 2025 returned for a second year to honour corporate leaders and business players for their contributions and role in the region’s socioeconomic development.
Star Media Group Bhd (SMG) received the Great Asean Media Excellence Award for its comprehensive coverage of the Asean Summit this year.
Accepting the accolade on the company’s behalf at a Kuala Lumpur hotel was SMG chief content officer Datin Paduka Esther Ng.
The prestigious regional event was organised by Asean Economic Club (AEC) and KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific.
In his speech, AEC chairman and KSI president Tan Sri Michael Yeoh stressed on the importance of fostering regional collaboration.
Guests of honour included Dewan Negara president Datuk Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah, Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi and Philippines Ambassador to Malaysia Maria Angela A. Ponce.
Also present were KSI chairman Tan Sri Majid Khan and deputy chairman Datuk Seri Mohamed Iqbal Rawther.
