‘TIS the season to be jolly and food inevitably takes centre stage.
This Christmas, Makan Kitchen at DoubleTree by Hilton Shah Alam i-City has a festive spread that strikes a balance between luxury and warmth.
Known for its multi-cuisine buffet showcasing regional Malaysian dishes alongside international favourites, the restaurant elevates its Western offerings for the year-end celebrations.
With the focus on Christmas, hotel executive chef Mohd Azhar Sariff said the buffet showstopper is the Herb-crusted Angus Beef Leg.
“The meat is slow-roasted to tender perfection, offering a beefy richness with local flavour.
“We will not be serving turkey, but our Signature Crispy Aromatic Chicken brings a comforting, family-style warmth.
“It is juicy, aromatic and generously seasoned, capturing the essence of enjoying a Christmas roast at home,” he said.
Other festive mains include Baked Flounder with Crab Imperial and Choron Sauce, Braised BBQ Beef Short Ribs, Braised Chicken Barigoule and Macaroni with Meatball and Wild Mushroom Ragout, each adding its own flair to the Christmas spread.
For balance, diners can look forward to side dishes such as Brussels Sprouts with Caramelised Chestnut and Baby Carrots, while the Cauliflower Gratin with Black Truffle lends an aromatic depth that elevates the humble vegetable into a celebration-worthy indulgence.
On the dessert table, there are plenty to choose from including chocolates, pralines cookies, cakes, pastries, panna cotta, trifle, creme brulee and macarons.
As for beverages, there will be some Christmas classics like Amaretto Sour and Eggnog.
The Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day dinner buffet will be from 6.30pm to 10.30pm, priced at RM200nett per adult and RM100nett per child.
Christmas Day high-tea buffet will be from 12.30pm to 3.30pm, and dinner buffet will be from 6.30pm to 10.30pm, both priced at RM160nett per adult and RM80nett per child.
