THREE Madani parks have been developed in the Ayer Keroh state constituency of Melaka to enhance unity among residents, says Ayer Keroh assemblyman Kerk Chee Yee.
The parks, according to the elected representative, are at Taman Ayer Keroh Height in Ayer Keroh, Taman Sutera Wangi in Batu Berendam, and Taman Kerjasama in Bukit Beruang.
“Through the Madani Park initiative under the Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT), these parks were upgraded last year, with various public infrastructure for the use of the local community.
“This effort indirectly makes the parks a platform for communities to conduct various activities, thereby strengthening unity among residents of different ethnicities,” he was quoted by Bernama as saying at an event last month in Ayer Keroh, officiated by Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh.
Kerk said that following the positive impact of the parks initiative, he aimed to develop at least three more Madani parks this year in the constituency to ensure more residents benefitted from the programme.
