Water cut to affect 33,500 in Air Itam, Farlim and Paya Terubong from Feb 21

AN ESTIMATED 33,500 users in Air Itam, Farlim and Paya Terubong are to face water supply disruptions from 9pm on Friday (Feb 21) to 3pm on Saturday (Feb 22).

In a statement on Wednesday (Feb 19), the Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP) said the 18-hour overnight supply disruption is because of the closure of five valves in five pump houses to facilitate final connection works of a 600mm pipeline diversion project at Lebuhraya Thean Teik, in front of the market in Farlim.

It added that the pipeline diversion project is to accommodate flood mitigation works related to the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway-Air Itam bypass road project.

The list provided in the statement shows 67 neighbourhoods in the affected areas will be affected by the scheduled disruption.
