Two schools and a church in Sibu, Sarawak, have benefitted from much-needed upgrades.

According to Sibu MP Oscar Ling, the works included creating smart digital classrooms as well as building toilets and walkways in libraries and churches.

“SK Abang Ali received constituency funds to replace the old library roof and to instal a new water tank,” Ling said.

He added that funds were also used to buy television sets for SMK Bawang Assan, to improve the school’s smart digital classroom.

“This is to enable students to use technology to keep up with the digital era, so that they will not be left behind when they step into university in the future.”

An allocation also went towards building materials for the construction of a toilet and improving a pedestrian path at Nanga Tutus Iban Methodist Church, he said.
