Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) has been told to repair the many potholes and uneven road surfaces in Rejang Park commercial area, Sarawak, for the safety of users.

Sibu MP Oscar Ling said in a statement that he had been receiving complaints on the matter.

The roads in the area are very busy, so it is urgent to use asphalt to repair the surface to ensure the safety of motorists, especially motorcyclists, he said.

“There are many shops as well as a wet market and a residential area there.

“I hope that the municipal council will listen to the voices of the people and repair the damaged road surface as soon as possible,” he added.

Ling also pointed out that some floor tiles in the area had also collapsed due to the impact of rainwater from the gutter.

He said his DAP service centre is also located there.

Ling had taken photos and lodged a complaint with the Talikhidmat website but had yet to see the road repaired.
