Water company wins award for its crisis management online

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd was the silver winner in Best Social Media Crisis Management category at the Hashtag Asia Awards 2023 in Singapore.

Air Selangor acting chief executive Abas Abdullah said they were honoured to receive the award.

“As the largest water services provider in Malaysia, we understand that water is not just a necessity but the essence of life.

“Air Selangor’s ERP crisis management strategy has effectively demonstrated our ability to communicate vital and accurate information, provide updates and address concerns promptly through our social media platforms, ensuring our consumers are well informed during any disruption.

“We remain steadfast in our commitment to provide clean and safe treated water to 9.3 million consumers in Selangor, Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur.”

Air Selangor head of corporate communication Elina Baseri said the recognition was a testament to their commitment to leveraging digital platforms to enhance crisis response and communication strategies.

“Our team worked tirelessly to ensure timely and accurate information dissemination during crises.

“This award is a validation of their dedication and expertise,” she added.

The Best Social Media Crisis Management category at Hashtag Asia Awards recognises organisations that demonstrated outstanding performance in managing and mitigating crises through social media channels.

Air Selangor was also shortlisted as finalist in the Best Integrated Social Engagement Campaign category.
