School basketball court to get RM50,000 upgrade

SMK Bukit Assek’s basketball court, which is in a poor condition, will be upgraded at a cost of RM50,000, says Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng.

“I will allocate RM50,000 from the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) funds to carry out the necessary improvements.

“We will commence works as soon as possible,” he said after presenting incentives to 36 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) top scorers.

He said the court needed to be upgraded due to its uneven surface caused by poor soil conditions.

“The current state of the court also poses a safety hazard,” said Chieng, who pledged to improve school facilities in his constituency in Sarawak.
