Putting heart into a good cause

LOCAL NGO Great Heart Charity Association announced the return of their annual charity bazaar for 2023, to raise funds for their medical aid and dialysis treatment programme for underprivileged families.

About 1,300 people are expected to attend the event, which is set to take place on May 28 at the Pandamaran Sports Complex in Klang.

It is organised in collaboration with Lions Club of Selangor TCM, NGO Sendiri 543, Persatuan Phor Thor Kota Kemuning, Jalan Jalan Klang, and The Page.

The charity bazaar brings together more than 60 small vendors to promote, showcase and sell their diverse range of products and services while contributing to a worthy cause.

With the aim of raising RM80,000 in medical funds for their charity programme, Great Heart Charity has planned various activities for attendees to contribute to the less fortunate through this bazaar, such as a blood donation drive and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) by the Lions Club of Selangor TCM.

“We believe that charity should be both practical and inspiring, and we aim to provide that through this bazaar,” said Great Heart Charity Association spokesperson Angie Ng in a statement.

“Every year, we organise this charity bazaar to support our charity programmes.

“We want to create a platform for everyone to come together, have fun and contribute to a meaningful cause,” she said.

Apart from its focus on health aspects, Ng said the bazaar would also offer a variety of items including fashion and home products, arts and crafts, and artisanal food.

Proceeds will be donated to Great Heart Charity’s Medical Aid and Dialysis Treatment programme for underprivileged families.

For those unable to attend, the association also accepts banked in donations for the medical aid programme.

The public can donate directly to Great Heart Charity (CIMB: 800 3599 969), with the reference “Charity Bazaar.”

Donations of RM30 and above will be tax-exempted.
