THE Malaysian Dutch Business Council’s Innovation and Sustainability Awards was hosted by Sunway University.

The event was attended by Netherlands ambassador to Malaysia Jacques Werner and Sunway University president Prof Sibrandes Poppema, who served as one of the judges.

This event provided an invaluable platform for the finalists to showcase their innovative projects and business concepts, allowing people to learn from their experiences and connect with different stakeholders.

It was a great opportunity for both the Malaysian and Dutch business communities to collaborate, exchange ideas, and demonstrate their commitment to sustainability.

In the same week, Sunway University welcomed British Council chief executive Scott McDonald on his inaugural visit to Malaysia as part of the British Council’s 75th anniversary in Malaysia.

During his visit to the Sunway campus, McDonald provided valuable insights on cultural exchanges and the power of soft diplomacy between the United Kingdom and Malaysia.

He was accompanied by other British Council guests and had a productive meeting with the Sunway leadership team including Sunway Education Group chief executive officer Prof Datuk Elizabeth Lee and Prof Poppema.
