ASPEN Group ushered in the Year of the Rabbit with a tossing of yee sang attended by about 200 guests at its Chinese New Year open house.

Visitors had the chance to meet the God of Prosperity and witness a lion dance during the event at Aspen Vision City Sales Gallery in Batu Kawan, Nibong Tebal, Penang.

Children participated in a dough doll-making class while their parents tried their luck at God of Prosperity Fortune Machine offering 999 pure gold bars, gift cards, cash vouchers and plush toys, among other things.

The open house was held on the seventh day of the lunar new year or ren ri, the day Chinese believe human beings were created by Nuwa, the mother goddess.

Aspen Group president and chief executive officer Datuk M. Murly said the company was rewarding its customers with up to RM18,000 in move-in bonus and a RM888 auspicious ang pow.

“Chinese New Year is all about reunions and celebrating with family members and friends.

“This is also the time for us to show our appreciation to customers for their continuous support,” he said, adding that the group was offering easy entry options to own a property.

In collaboration with Ikano Retail, Aspen Group is expected to launch two residential developments in Aspen Vision City in the second quarter of the year.

The first, to be known as Versa, is a mid-range price point high-rise residential development located next to the Klippa Shopping Centre.

Versa introduces a new concept of versatile living with elements catering to the distinct needs and lifestyles of every generation.

It sits on 2.14ha of freehold land and features built-up sizes ranging from 703sq ft to 868sq ft.

The other project is the second phase of Viluxe – 61 units of 2.5-storey terrace houses fronting the 10.1ha Central Park.

Once completed, the units will be conveniently connected to other Aspen Vision City components such as Ikea Batu Kawan, the Klippa Drive-Thru and Shopping Centre, Vervea Commercial Precinct and Columbia Asia Hospital.

Touted to be a self-sustaining and future-driven metropolis, Aspen Vision City comprises mixed residential and commercial components including the first Ikea store in the northern region.

The upcoming Klippa Shopping Centre will offer a comprehensive and unique retail experience with over 300 brands, including Mr DIY, Mr Toy and TMG Plus Supermarket alongside Harvey Norman, Sports Direct and Project Rock.

The first phase of Aspen Vision City includes the RM105mil Central Island Park on 10.1ha, Vervea shop office and Ikea Batu Kawan store.

Murly said the 100ha metropolis with an overall gross development value of RM13bil was expected to be fully completed within eight years, or by 2031.

“Most of our projects like the Vertu Resort met with overwhelming responses.

“Out of the 1,250 condominium units, we only have two more left for sale.

“The project is currently 40% occupied with more moving weekly into the freehold resort-inspired condominium.

“It is designed with facilities and activity zones to fulfil every expectation of families,” he added.

Murly attributed the popularity of the group’s projects to upcoming factories in the area as well as the higher rental yield compared to Penang island.

He noted that Aloft by Marriott would be completed by the fourth quarter of this year.

It is the first international branded hotel in Batu Kawan, he said.

“The hotel has a 30-storey tower, swimming pool, fitness centre, meeting rooms, ballrooms, restaurants and bar, among others.”

He said the group’s projects were mainly concentrated in Batu Kawan although there was an upcoming RM850mil mixed development project called HH Park Residence in Jalan Chan Siew Teong, Tanjung Bungah, where Hong Hong Printing Company Sdn Bhd used to be located.

“When completed in 2027, it will have two blocks of residential towers with 460 condominium units and 420 service residence units.

“There will also be a mall, which will be leased out, on the 2.2ha of the project land,” said Murly.
