TOUCH ‘n Go Group announced the cycles one and two winners of their Touch ‘n Go RFID Free Toll Contest in which 16 RFID users won a year of free toll.

The ongoing contest until Nov 18 is open to all Malaysians above the age of 18 who use Class 1 private-owned vehicles.

To participate, users will need to purchase and activate their Touch ‘n Go RFID and use it at least five times for toll payments during the contest period to be in the running to win a year of free toll.

The Touch ‘n Go RFID Free Toll Contest will see 40 winners in total with eight users selected every two weeks.

“We would like to congratulate our first and second round of winners of the Free Toll contest,” said Touch ‘n Go Group deputy chief executive officer Prabakaran Sangarajoo.

“The contest is designed to reward our Touch ‘n Go RFID users and we strongly encourage anyone who has yet to get themselves an RFID tag, to try it out and experience this convenient payment method while going through tolls or for fuelling.

“We have three more cycles to go, with eight winners selected per cycle. So, there is plenty of opportunity to win a year of free toll travel.”

Many winners shared that the free toll prize would help them ease their burden of paying tolls daily, while some were also excited to start exploring the different states of Malaysia with their family and friends.

The eight winners from cycle one of the contest are Loh Kean Huat and Yasir Che Abdullah from Kuala Lumpur, Kyle Nicholas Hon and Kor Yen Sing from Selangor, Lee Yi Hao and Mohamad Firdaus Ajis from Negri Sembilan, Mohd Zainal Mohd Shafiei from Perak and Loh Bee Ling from Penang.

Yasir said: “This contest was very easy to join. All I needed was to purchase, instal, and use my Touch ‘n Go RFID. My experience with RFID has been seamless. The barrier gates open really fast, and I’ve had a 100% success rate at all toll booths.

“I’m a frequent highway user and winning this contest means I will have at least RM6,000 in savings every month.”

Another contest winner, Kean Huat said: “Winning this contest means I can save money of course, because I’m using the toll almost every day to go to work. Apart from that, I will also be planning for more local travel trips with my family.”

Meanwhile, the other eight winners from cycle two are Koek Cheng Yee, Nicholas Lau Yeen Kit and Mohamad Zulkifly Mohd Kassim from Penang, Calvin Lee Khai Vui from Pahang, Azrul Nizam Othman from Melaka, Ong Wei Wei and Mohd Khairul Anwar Ismail Rosdi from Selangor, and Aaron David Robinson from Kuala Lumpur.

“I bought the Touch ‘n Go RFID tag to travel to Penang with my friends as I wanted to ensure a seamless journey. After the trip, I received a call informing me that I was the winner of the Touch ‘n Go RFID Free Toll contest. I was in total disbelief! Now, with the one-year free toll, I plan to continue my travel journey with my friends to the other states as well,” said Ong.

Mohd Khairul said: “Thank you Touch ‘n Go for giving me a chance to win this contest. It was so easy to join and win! I love using RFID when I go through the tolls, and I love my prize. With the one-year free toll, I can’t wait to travel to all destinations in Peninsular Malaysia with my family and friends!”

Besides paying for tolls, Touch ‘n Go RFID can also be used to pay for petrol at selected Shell stations across the country.

To refuel with Touch ‘n Go RFID, users simply need to park their vehicles at the RFID designated fuelling bays and payment will be auto-debited from their Touch n’ Go ewallets, allowing them to proceed with refuelling their vehicles.

Any unutilised amount will be immediately refunded to the users’ Touch ‘n Go ewallet accounts.

The Touch ‘n Go RFID tags can be purchased at the Touch ‘n Go NU Sentral and Bangsar South in the Klang Valley service and sales centres, designated RFID fitment centres and at selected petrol stations across Malaysia.

It is also available for online purchase via the Touch ‘n Go RFID portal, official Touch ‘n Go stores on Lazada and Shopee, as well as the Touch ‘n Go ewallet.
