Home fair returns with latest gadgets, appliances

HomeDec is happening tomorrow until Sunday at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

A POPULAR home improvement fair will return to Kuala Lumpur tomorrow.

To be held until Sunday at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, the Home Design & Interior Exhibition (HomeDec) will feature renowned exhibitors.

Those looking to freshen up their homes for the holidays and year-end festivities will find the event timely.

Check out the latest, top-of-the-range ovens or built-in speciality coffee machines, seamlessly designed and installed into kitchen cabinetry.

Visitors can also explore the latest technological advancements in home security devices and smart home appliances.

Future houseowners can also start to source the best products to plan their budget and design their dream home.

There will be six halls, including the concurrent RiX – Reka Interiors Exhibition, to meet all home needs.

Get inspired by the thousands of experts, design ideas and products on how to furnish or refresh homes.

From bungalows to studios, renovation and refurbishment solutions will abound at the event.

At Hall 1, coffee brewing demonstrations will be conducted by baristas.

Coffee lovers will benefit from tips and guides, as well as offers on coffee machines, beans and accessories.

C.I.S president and HomeDec organiser Datuk Vincent Lim said: “The renovation or refurbishment journey can seem like a daunting task. We advise houseowners to get tips from experts and professionals.

“They will be able to guide you and consider things like space planning and practical living needs for the elderly, children and toddlers.”

The exhibition will also have contests where shoppers will have the opportunity to win prizes in the form of cash, vouchers and discounts on premium appliances.

One HomeDec shopper will stand a chance to win RM10,000 by spending RM8,000 or more in a single or a maximum of three receipts.

Visitors to the exhibition who “like” HomeDec’s Facebook page, share its “Ka-Ching!” post and tag three friends under the comment section will be entitled to redeem a RM250 cash voucher at the registration counter.

This is on a first-come, first-served basis, and while stocks last.

Shoppers who spend more than RM800 in a single receipt are entitled to enter the “Oh My Draw” Contest, where they can win a wide range of products, vouchers and cash prizes at the exhibition, courtesy of Broadlink Marketing Sdn Bhd, Crown Furniture Trading Sdn Bhd, Cuckoo International Sdn Bhd, FutureAire Sdn Bhd, ITazzo Homestyle Sdn Bhd, Kingkoil Bedding Sdn Bhd and Therapedic.

As for door gifts, visitors will receive a 400g bag of rice from Jasmine Food Corporation Sdn Bhd or a set of reusable straws from Verdant Solar Sdn Bhd (on a first-come, first-served basis, and while stocks last).

A mystery home appliance will be given to one lucky visitor daily, courtesy of Samsung Malaysia Electronics Sdn Bhd.

Meanwhile, the concurrent RiX – Reka Interiors Exhibition is a semi-trade exhibition for industry practitioners, including interior designers, product designers, trade and business professionals as well as houseowners. It is jointly organised by Malaysian Institute of Interior Designers (MIID) and C.I.S.

Other concurrent programmes at RiX include the Reka Conference, forums, talk sessions and workshops.

HomeDec will be open to the public from 10am to 8pm on all four days.
