THOSE looking for nutritious drinks have a range of grain-origin beverages to choose from.

The NH Nutri Grains series of powdered beverages is available exclusively at Watsons and its improved formulation replaces non-dairy creamer with coconut oil powder.

NH Nutri Grains Plus by Herbalceutical is packed with 20 types of grains and is high in Vitamin B12.

New on the market is NH Nutri Grains Plus Purple Sweet Potato and NH Nutri Grains Plus Beetroot.

“As a leading health and beauty retailer, it is important for us to promote a healthy lifestyle to consumers,” said Watsons Malaysia managing director Caryn Loh.

“The NH Nutri Grains series is a great addition to the available healthy beverage options and consuming it benefits all age groups,” she said.

The NH Nutri Grains Plus Purple Sweet Potato and NH Nutri Grains Beetroot are a good source of fibre, vitamins and minerals.

Herbalceutical chairman Wong Chee Herng said, “We have collaborated with Watsons since 2016 and I am glad we can promote a healthy lifestyle with our new drinks which have coconut oil powder to optimise digestion.”

Both drinks also have wolfberry and red dates extract to enhance the flavour.

A dialogue session was held with radio DJ and fitness personality Linora Low and radio DJ Fiqrie at the launch.

Low, who has a busy schedule, has found the NH Nutri Grains Plus drinks to be a good source of nutrition to consume between meals.

“It is filling, I enjoy the taste and I find it easily dissolves with almond or oat milk,” she said.

When asked how she maintains her healthy lifestyle, Low said: “We need to put the right fuel into our body (with good nutrition), get enough sleep, stay active, drink lots of water and manage stress levels.”

Fiqrie said he had been an NH consumer for years and found the grain-based drinks the ideal way for him to try to go vegan.

“I don’t consume cow’s milk as I get acne when I drink it. So NH Nutri Grains drinks are good for me as they have coconut oil powder with vitamin B, and are filling.

“It is great to have during Ramadan, especially during sahur, and I can just mix it into my smoothie,” he said.

After the launch, participants joined a cooking workshop and learned to make two dishes.

Using NH Nutri Grains Plus Beetroot, they made Pink Polo Buns, and Penguin Ice Box Cookies with the NH Nutri Grains Purple Sweet Potato.

The beverage powders can be found at Watsons stores or online priced from RM60.80 onwards.
