Jalan PJS3/26 in PJ hit by flash flood

THE main road at Jalan PJS3/26 in Petaling Jaya has been hit by a flash flood.

The 6pm downpour on Tuesday (Jan 4) resulted in water inundating the main road.

Just two weeks ago, Taman Buana Perdana, which is metres away from Jalan PJS3/26, was affected by floods, with residents suffering losses.

Resident Alan Ng said residents were traumatised when they realised the main road was flooded.

“Thank god the rain stopped and it was just a flash flood. We were extremely worried and we cannot face another serious flood. It would be unbearable.

“We want the Petaling Jaya City Council to be strict with development taking place here,” he said, claiming that a lot of mud flows down from the construction site.

“The drain was filled with muddy water, too. We want this to be addressed immediately,” he said.

Ng, who suffered losses of about RM10,000 due to the flood on Dec 18 last year said the water level rose to 30cm in his house.

“The material loss is painful but this fear of another flood is hard to overcome,” he said.
