Glenmarie to be ‘better positioned’

ONE of Klang Valley’s more popular golf destinations has changed its name to Glenmarie Hotel & Golf Resort.

The move comes amid a change in the management of the property with the golf club and hotel – formerly known as Glenmarie Golf & Country Club and Holiday Inn Glenmarie – now combined as one under Tradewinds Corporation Bhd.

The golf club has two 18-hole courses that have over the years picked up several awards.

The switch in management and rebranding of the golf facilities are seen a move in the right direction as Tradewinds unveil their latest hotel, a resort-styled sanctuary in Shah Alam, Selangor.

Indeed, with over five decades of experience in the business, Tradewinds, among the largest hotel management companies in Malaysia, intends to better position their new hotel and golf venue on the market, with an emphasis on quality, professionalism and excellent customer services.

It will remain dedicated to delivering competitive and affordable prices for business and leisure travellers alike.

The Garden course and Valley course both have their own identity and telling characters.

The Garden course is the better known of the two and was the venue of the EurAsia Cup presented by DRB-Hicom.

This was a huge international tournament that featured the best golfers from Europe and Asia in 2014, 2016 and 2018.

They pitted their skills against each other for the US$4.8mil (RM20mil) prize money, of which the winners took home US$3.6mil (RM15mil).

The Garden course is 6,404 metres in length from the black tee boxes and the Valley marginally longer at 6,412m.

Both are par-72 layouts that have a rich array of flora, fauna and water bodies, and a variety of species of pine trees.

Glenmarie Hotel & Golf Resort cluster general manager Jung Chul Soon said: “Among our many enjoyable recreational facilities are five in-house restaurants with talented chefs.

“We also have well-equipped meeting spaces with excellent facilities.

“We are really excited to welcome visitors to experience the new twist found in Glenmarie Hotel & Golf Resort, where we take care of every last detail that matters in a great stay.”

The hotel has 260 rooms and overlooks several sections of the Garden course, considered the main layout at Glenmarie.

Glenmarie Hotel & Golf Resort is located about 30 minutes by road from Kuala Lumpur International Airport and 10 minutes from Subang Sky Park Airport.

The iconic Petronas Twin Towers and the Kuala Lumpur City Centre is just 40 minutes away.

All this makes the resort an ideal getaway for a holiday retreat, a quick staycation from the bustling city or a business stay.
