SEVERAL underprivileged children were taken on a Hari Raya Aidilfitri shopping trip by property developers Tanah Makmur Berhad and KotaSAS Sdn Bhd.

The companies said they collaborated with the Pahang Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MUIP), which identified the children who were most in need of assistance.

“One of MUIP’s roles is to support and assist underprivileged children in Kuantan and Pahang as a whole with help from Dapur Infaq Ummah and other NGOs.

“In total, 33 children were invited. The young ones, aged between five and 15 years, received baju raya and duit raya from us, ” said the companies in a statement.

Tanah Makmur Berhad group chief executive officer Datuk Shahrul Nizam Abdul Aziz handed out the duit raya, witnessed by MUIP deputy chief executive officer (baitulmal and operations) Dr Asmadi Abdul Rahman.

“We hope that our contribution will help bring cheer to the children during the Raya celebration, ” said the statement.
