HAVING a large pool of blood stem cell donors is crucial to help those in need of stem cell transplants.

However, there are only 33,523 registered donors in Malaysia and the number is among the lowest in the Asean region, according to Institute For Medical Research consultant pathologist Dr Masita Arip.
