MOVIEGOERS can look forward to a luxurious cinematic experience this year-end.

Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) and homegrown natural latex mattress company Getha are collaborating to take movie experiences to the next level with a new ultra-luxe offering.

Through this partnership, Aurum Theatre, a rebrand from GSC Signature, will include co-branded halls called Getha Lux Suites, which feature exclusively-designed suite-style seating with luxury recliners.

Speaking at the partnership announcement at GSC Mid Valley Megamall, GSC chief executive officer Koh Mei Lee said Aurum Theatre was an exclusive new boutique cinema designed to deliver greater comfort and enjoyment to customers.

“Derived from the Latin word and chemical element representing gold, Aurum is an exquisite escape from the conventional, a treat for special occasions or moments of indulgence.

“As GSC continues to innovate as a brand, it is only natural that we drive new, luxurious and prestigious experiences for cinemagoers in Malaysia.

“We believe our customers will truly appreciate the high-quality latex products and comfort that Getha is well-known for, ” she said.

Customers of Getha Lux Suites can expect a lavish experience no matter the occasion with luxury recliners that offer personalised functions, combined with a butler service, fine food and drink, in addition to top-of-the-range cinematic technology.

Getha chief executive officer Melissa Tan noted they were celebrating their 50th anniversary.

“We continue to introduce new concepts of luxury and innovation to cater to Malaysians.

“The Getha Lux Suites provide an ultra-luxurious cinematic experience with the comfort of Malaysia’s 100% natural latex.

“We are proud of this partnership as it exemplifies the first class experience that Malaysian hospitality has to offer, ” said Tan.

The Getha Lux Suites are specially designed by Italian architect Marco Fumagalli.

Meanwhile, Aurum Theatres will also feature other ultra-luxe halls with private cabins and thematic theatres which come with bespoke service and contemporary dining as well as a standalone gastrobar to give moviegoers a place to feast before their movie.
