St Xavier’s Institution students distributing food and ang pows to the needy at the school compound during the event to honour the St John Baptist De La Salle.
SOME 80 needy folk started queuing up as early as 8.30am in the compound of St Xavier’s Institution (SXI) to receive free food and ang pows in conjunction with the school’s annual charity drive.
The free food distribution, held for the first time, was also to commemorate 300 years after the death of St John Baptist De La Salle (1651 – 1719), who was the founder of La Salle Brothers and LaSallian Education.
