MELAKA: Residents can now apply for funds to repair their house under an initiative by the state government.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron said RM2.8mil had been set aside for this and the funds would be distributed to 28 constituencies in the state.
“This is part of the state’s effort to assist those who cannot afford to fix defects of their houses,” he said after chairing the weekly exco meeting.
Idris said each constituency would receive RM100,000 and the initiative was open to all those living in Melaka.
He said those whose houses had damaged structures could apply for the allocation of between RM5,000 and RM10,000.
“The application should be submitted through the Chief Minister’s Department,” he said.
Separately, Idris announced that the state would be increasing the monthly salary of Community Rehabilitation Centre supervisors from RM1,200 to RM1,400 while the salary of the centre’s staff would be raised from RM800 to RM 1,100.
