THERE is no better way to greet neighbours than by giving them a warm welcome with tonnes of fun thrown in.

One Amerin Residence Sdn Bhd officially opened its doors to Amerin Mall, the new suburban shopping centre in Balakong, with a carnival-like event.

The fun-filled weekend packed with activities offered martial arts, dance and cosplay performances, Chinese calligraphy demonstration and exhibition, free Zumba session and dodgeball competitions.

The mall was launched by Deputy Home Minister Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed who said the suburban mall concept was getting popular as they not only created a place for shopping, but a venue for residents to seek entertainment and recreational fun.

One Amerin Residence Sdn Bhd managing director John Lim said 75% of the shops in the mall were occupied.

The river promenade, which would have food trucks and a flea market on weekends, was a prime attraction.

The three-level mall has 15 lots for food and beverage eateries, 32 retail lots and 35 kiosks.

Each floor in the mall is dedicated to a specific theme ranging from food, lifestyle, art and fashion to health, education and entertainment.

The mall also has a cinema with eight halls.

Standing adjacent to the mall are two 27-storey residential blocks with 608 service apartment units of which 90% is occupied.

Amerin Mall is located along the Kajang Dispersal Link Expressway (SILK) in the heart of Balakong, which has an estimated population of 200,000.

Its proximity to the Silk Highway provides easy access to Kajang, Kuala Lumpur and Cheras to the north and to the south.

It is also easily accessible to Puchong and Subang and Sungai Long.
