IF you haven’t made a trip to the Watch Masters exhibition yet, what are you waiting for?

Presented by local regional luxury watch retailer Swiss Watch Gallery (SWG), it features a comprehensive collection of timepieces.

Held at Gurney Paragon Mall until Feb 9, the contemporary showcase which unveils in Penang for the first time, will see international Swiss brands such as Graham, Longines, Oris, Maurice Lacroix, Tag Heuer, Tissot and Tudor.

Here, bigwigs of the participating watch brands have their say.

Graham

For Graham, Malaysia is a dynamic, emerging market. So far, the main business is in the Klang Valley and we are looking forward to boost business in Penang. This is why we immediately accepted the invitation to participate at this event. We believe that Penangites are very knowledgeable and discerning. Our challenge will be to convey the watchmaking values, heritage and innovative spirit for our high-end watch collection.

Graham vice president sales C. Emanuel Bitton says that the brands philosophy is no-nonsense innovation, so even the most complicated watches have to be functional.

The current collection and recent novelties are showcased at Watch Masters. One of them is the brand new GT Asia Limited Edition 2015, plus the current bestseller Chronofighter Black Arrow. – C. Emanuel Bitton, international sales director, Graham

Oris

It’s a pleasure to be here in Penang together with our partner SWG, to show our latest collection as well as some very special models. The Watch Masters exhibition offers a good overview of the latest trends and we are honoured to be part of this very first edition.

Michael Meier, regional manager, Malaysia and Singapore, Oris.

For us, Penang is a very established and important market. With our clear direction to offer real watches for real people, we have been able to build a strong following on the island and we are looking forward to continue impressing them with new, innovative timepieces.

At Watch Masters, we will showcase our latest models, as well as iconic Oris designs. There are quite a few highlights, such as the newest members of our Aquis family of diving watches and the new Audi Sport Limited Editionomers. – Michael Meier, regional manager, Oris Malaysia and Singapore

Maurice Lacroix

We look forward to share this wonderful horology experience with Penangites. It’s a great platform to move such a successful event from city to city.

As this is the first time, it could be a jump-start to a bigger luxury event in Penang.

We are proud to present the latest Basel 2014 novelties including the Masterpiece Gravity, which has a limited edition of 250 pieces. It features an oscialltor and cutting-edge silicium assortment which is now redesigned on the front of the movement instead of the back.

Being the official watch for FC Barcelona, one of the world’s most prestigious football clubs, we are also taking this opportunity to unveil the FC Barcelona collection. – Stephane Waser, managing director, Maurice Lacroix

Tissot

We are thrilled and looking forward to the event, which is being held for the first time in Penang.

As it is the second largest market position in Malaysia, the purchasing power in Penang is rising.

Where our brand is concerned, we will launch the Tissot T-race Touch Aluminium in Malaysia via the Watch Master event. – Ian Lee, vice president, Tissot Malaysia

Tag Heuer

We have a close working relationship with SWG and participated in similar exhibitions in the Klang Valley. We are pleased to be invited to this premier exhibition and we hope to share the success in Penang.

The watch industry on the island has much room for growth. Tag Heuer will bring much benefit as a brand, and when paired with a strong partner.

At Watch Masters, this is the first time Penangites can view the Tag Heuer Formula 1 Collection, especially the new pieces in automatic movement. – Celeste Lee, sales director, Tag Heuer Malaysia
