Factory operators fined for contaminating rivers

A HEAVY machinery factory in Bukit Beruntung, Rawang, and a chicken farm in Kampung Sungai Selisik, Kalumpang, were found discharging contaminated waste water into the rivers.

Hulu Selangor District Council (MDHS) fined both the chicken farm and factory operators not exceeding RM1,000 and they were given a 14-day notice from Aug 11 to clean up the area or face more serious penalties.
