Send in your felines’ photos for project to help stray cats

THINK City, a community-focused urban regeneration organisation, is working to create more liveable and inclusive public spaces for all.

This includes addressing the welfare of urban animals, namely stray cats.

The organisation, together with Pet Adoption Network and Arc Rhinowrites, is collecting pictures of cats to be featured on the tunnel wall of the Masjid Jamek LRT Station for the Arts On The Move KucingTamu project.

The photography exhibition, which will run from October to December, is a way to advocate for cat welfare issues, specifically in the Masjid Jamek area.

At the same time, Pet Adoption Network would like to educate people about animal welfare and also run a spaying/neutering campaign.

The overpopulation of stray cats in our cities has an impact on the hygiene of public spaces and overall livability of these areas.

As such, the organisation intends to highlight the issue and educate the public on how they can help take better care of these cats and prevent the feline population from growing in the city.

The space bought by Malaysians to feature their cats will be used to spay and neuter stray cats in the Masjid Jamek area.

There are 668 spaces for sale, ranging in size from A4 to A2, and sponsorship costs start from RM30.

The deadline for photo entries is Aug 31.
