THE Light Hotel in Seberang Jaya, Penang, has taken delivery of a 14-seater Club Car ‘limousine’ for its guests’ exclusive use.

The battery-operated vehicle will be used to transport guests especially the elderly and children to the car park.

Named after Penang’s founder Francis Light, the vehicle was in line with the state’s ‘Go Green’ initiative.

Penang Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas, accompanied by his consort Toh Puan Majimor Shariff, opened the event at the hotel recently.

Also present were The Light Hotel chairman Azhar Mohammad and hotel general manager Raj Kumar.

The hotel also celebrated Abdul Rahman’s 79th birthday and Hari Raya during a luncheon later with 60 children from Kasih Abadi Seberang Prai, Shan Children’s Home Perai and Eden Handicap Centre.
