Govt to consider privatising solid waste management

THE government will consider the applications by the Perak and Kelantan state governments on the privatisation of solid waste management.

The Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government minister Tan Sri Noh Omar said both Perak and Kelantan recently put in their applications to adopt the Solid Waste and Public Cleaning Act 2007 (Act 672).
