University students develop special ties with rural folk

MIRI: More than 200 volunteers from Curtin University Sarawak’s Curtin Volunteers! group have visited two rural primary schools and four longhouses to carry out charity work under the annual John Curtin Weekend (JCW).

The schools involved were SK Kampung Bakam and SK Kampung Bungai in Bekenu while the longhouses visited were Rumah Empaga in Sungai Beluru, Rumah Linggi in Sungai Urong, Rumah Mandau in Sungai Sekerat, Niah, and Rumah Panjang Sungai Tiris in Sibuti.
