Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has been accused of selling off its prime land to developers and mayor Datuk Seri Mohd Amin Nordin conceded that it was, but only to be able build affordable and low-cost housing for the city’s middle income earners and the poor.
Amin Nordin said DBKL had no choice but to sell its land to build affordable homes for residents as they are the city’s most important resource and it was his responsibility to ensure residents are able to afford decent sustainable housing.
