CEMENT trucks are normally spotted at dusty construction sites pouring cement out of their huge revolving drums.
But have you seen one which dispenses bottles of drinks instead of cement?
Such was a sight when a cement mixer truck bearing Mountain Dew’s signature fluorescent green logo paid a visit to Menara Star in Petaling Jaya recently.
The truck attracted the attention of employees and curious onlookers when its drum started revolving, dispensing bottles of chilled Mountain Dew.
Etika Group of Companies (formerly known as Permanis Sandilands Sdn Bhd) marketing and business development vice-president Hemalatha Ragavan said the cement mixer truck sampling had never been carried out before. “We are urging Malaysians to dig deep into themselves to be courageous and be the first to do it because that is how innovations come into existence.”
This is in line with Mountain Dew’s “It Doesn’t Exist Until You Do it” campaign which encourages its consumers to have a go-getter attitude.
It also goes with Mountain Dew’s edgy and bold brand image.
During the visit, employees and the public were invited to play a simple game to win bottles of Mountain Dew.
Participants were given two tries at hitting a moving target on the revolving drum of the cement mixer truck with a ball.
For each successful hit, they win different flavours of Mountain Dew.
The one-of-a-kind truck has been going around the Klang Valley since May 13 and ended the drive on June 3 after visiting 32 locations and dispensing more than 10,000 bottles of different flavoured Mountain Dew to the public.
