THE Penang government has recently approved the ‘Empowering the Street Citizens’ programme with a fund of RM560,000, says state Welfare Committee chairman Phee Boon Poh.
Phee (DAP-Sungai Puyu) said the tripartite venture between the state government, private sector and non-governmental organisations was aimed at helping the homeless in Penang.
