CHARIOT PROCESSION

The Arulmigu Sri Ruthra Veeramuthu Maha Mariamman Devasthanam Temple will hold a chariot procession from the temple in Jalan Air Itam, Penang, at 10.30am tomorrowfollowed by a fire-walking ceremony. The chariot will pass through Jalan Air Itam, Jalan Paya Terubong, Jalan Kampung Pisang, Jalan Thean Teik, Lintang Angsana, Jalan Angsana, Jalan Boundary and Jalan Padang Tembak before heading back to the temple. PUBLIC LECTURE

Think City will host a public lecture by Dr Rachel Leow titled ‘Taming Babel: Language in the Making of Malaya’ at E&O Hotel Penang at 3.30pm on April 15. Dr Leow, ahistory lecturer in Cambridge University, will present key findings from her latest book on exciting issues around language and nation-making. She is also in Malaysia to promote the Tunku Abdul Rahman Fund, which provides scholarships to Malaysians keen on studying at University of Cambridge.
