Factory operator faces power theft charge


KUCHING: A wood-processing factory at Upper Lanang in Sibu has been caught stealing electricity during a joint inspection by Sarawak Energy Bhd (SEB), Public Utilities Ministry and the police.

SEB initiated the inspection after noticing abnormal electricity usage readings when looking through its data. During the inspection, the factory’s electricity meter and wiring was found tempered with, said a press release.
