In Kuala Lumpur,flash floods were reported along Jalan Pudu near the Tung Shin Hospital, Jalan Bangsar (near LRT Bangsar) as well as at the Hishamuddin roundabout.
Kuala Lumpur City Council (DBKL) shared the information through its Twitter account, informing road users of the possible road congestion leading up to the affected areas.
Several cars were also submerged in the flood waters along Jalan Bangsar causing a long traffic crawl heading towards the National Museum.
When contacted at 5pm, a spokesman from it's enforcement department said their rescue team had been dispatched to the Hishamuddin roundabout to direct traffic.
Flash floods also hit Section 5 and Section 14 neighbourhoods in Petaling Jaya during the downpour which started at 4pm.
Vehichles who were looking to use Lorong Utara Kecil to avoid the One-Way Loop ended up going onto the Federal Highway due to flash floods.
Pictures taken by StarMetro reporter Aida Ahmad showed Lorong Utara Kecil was severely flooded, with knee-deep waters while the football field was totally submerged.
Several restaurants in Section 5 were also affected when flood waters from clogged drains entered their premises.
