Deepavali goodies for prison inmates

Supt Teyun handing over Deepavali delicacies to an inmate of the Remand Prison in Gaol Road. With them are Nanda Kumar (white shirt) and a Hindudharma Mamandram member.

IT’S NOT only the poor and destitute who need the Deepavali cheer but also the ‘forgotten’ group of people who have been cut off from the society.

The Hindudharma Mamandram in keeping up with its tradition of helping rehabilitate prison inmates showed that they care by bringing the festival atmosphere to the Remand Prison in Penang.
