HEAVY rain, traffic congestion and it being a weekday did not put off a big crowd of people from queueing up as early as 9am to collect their Penang Starwalk goodie bags at Penang Times Square.
Many came with their family members and friends to get some help with the goodie bags.
SMK Air Itam teacher Ang Bing Jun, 27, said the collection of the goodie bags was well-organised.
Ang, who was spotted carrying more than 90 bags with the help of a student yesterday, said he collected the bags on behalf of students and teachers who had signed up for the walk.
Internal auditor Ooi Tze Heng, 27, said he was collecting seven bags for himself and six others.
“I had requested to take a few hours off work in the morning to pick up the goodie bags,” he said.
Ooi, who was taking part in the walk for the first time, said he wanted to be early at the collection venue to make sure he got the right T-shirt size.
He will be taking part in the event with his two schoolgoing sisters, girlfriend and friends.
Ooi added that he was excited and looking forward to taking part in the walk as he had heard so much about it being a fun outing.
Yesterday was the first of the four days allocated for Starwalk 2015 participants to collect their T-shirts and goodie bags from 9am to 5.30pm.
The collection ends on Saturday.
The collection venue is at Phase 2, ground floor concourse (opposite Roti Bakar outlet) of Penang Times Square in Jalan Datuk Keramat.
