KOTA KINABALU: Aspiring teacher Ryannie Neils Yong, 20, has been crowned the most worthy lady in all of Sabah when she beat 42 contestants to grab the title of Unduk Ngadau 2015.

Yong, who represented Tanjung Aru shed tears of joy when her name was called as the winner for this year’s harvest queen contest and got her crown from last year’s queen Cheryl Lynn Pinsius at the Kadazandusun Cultural Association hall in Penampang on Sunday.

She bagged RM6,000, a trophy, sash, a trip to London and Bali as well as scholarship from the ATI college worth RM25, 000.

The second and third winner of the Unduk Ngadau competition went to 24-year-olds, Shirley Anthony Danggok (Tambunan) and Evrina Masalan (Tenom).

Yong said that being a first timer was amazing and humbling to be able to win the hearts of judges as well as all Sabahans.

“I will try my best to promote Sabah and its diverse cultures to the world,” she said, adjusting her beautiful crown.

The fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh winners went to representatives from Kota Kinabalu, Inanam, Putatan and Likas respectively.
