LUCKY draw winners during this year’s Ipoh Starwalk 2015 will get the chance to have a splashing fun time at the Lost World of Tambun, thanks to the theme park’s sponsorship.
They are giving away 200 tickets to the city’s iconic theme park worth RM11,200 in total.
Its assistant general manager Jasmy Othman said their sponsorship for the walk on June 14 was a way of living up to their principles as an organisation.
“We always hope to make our presence felt in the community by doing our part in supporting popular and healthy events in Ipoh, so they would become more successful.
“And it is not only Lost World that is doing this. Our parent company Sunway Group is equally committed to giving back to society by sponsoring such events.
“We hope that winners of the tickets will enjoy their time here with family and friends, as we are a huge believer in having quality time to bond with our loved ones,” he said after presenting the sponsorship to The Star representative Tan Cheak Tong at the theme park last Thursday.
Highlighting some of the theme park’s newest attractions, Jasmy introduced its very first Malayan tapir, which can be found in its caged vicinity at the Petting Zoo.
There since March this year, he said they had acquired the tapir, affectionately called Tappy, from the Sunway Lagoon Wildlife Park.
Also coming up during the upcoming school holiday season is the 360 Awesomeness programme, which will feature many exciting activities the whole day from May 30 to June 14.
In the programme, Grease Revisited features a retro dance battle and an acapella group performance at 4.30pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the theme park’s Ipoh Street.
There are also the Malayana Adventure Hunt Water Edition, which is a treasure hunt game in the Adventure River at 2pm daily, and the Awesome Pool Party at the main stage from 1pm to 5pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Lost World is also introducing a brand new, exhilarating attraction to its staple theme park features — Ride The Zorb.
This sport of rolling around on the ground and into the river inside a huge inflatable, transparent plastic ball is definitely not for the faint-hearted.
It will be available starting from May 30 onwards from 10am to 6pm, priced at RM20 per person and RM30 per couple, and will continue on even after the school holidays are over.
Currently in its 12th edition, this year’s Ipoh Starwalk, organised in cooperation with the Ipoh City Council, state government, state Education Department and Perak Athletic Association, will be flagged off at Stadium Indera Mulia at 7am on June 14.
The platinum sponsor for the walk is YES, the gold sponsor is Indomie, while the silver sponsors are Sanctband, F&N, Magnum, Julie’s and Mamee-Double Decker.
