No rules in place for lifeguards

There is no law or regulation to compel owners of swimming pools to employ lifeguards, said Life Saving Society Malaysia (LSSM).

Its deputy president Dr Zaid Chelvaraj said local councils and hotel owners had to take it upon themselves to hire lifeguards at their pools.
