MORE than 500 people joined a peaceful protest outside Vivekananda Ashram in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur, urging its trustees to withdraw their objection to designate the place as a heritage site.

They gathered outside the ashram from 10am to noon yesterday, with some holding placards expressing their sentiment.
