Gifts of gold for newlyweds

Gold jewellery has always been an essential item in Chinese wedding traditions.

Wah Chan Gold and Jewellery Corporation Sdn Bhd is dedicating itself to keeping these traditions alive by adding a touch of sophistication and modernity to its first wedding jewellery boutique in Section 14, Petaling Jaya.

“The tradition of parents and family members giving newlyweds gold jewellery during the tea ceremony as a blessing to the couple has been practised for centuries.

“We are delighted to be the first in the market to introduce such a retail concept that caters to those looking for Chinese wedding jewellery,” said Wah Chan senior marketing manager Eliza Kow.

The 108sqm retail space features a variety of modern gold jewellery designs with each piece meticulously handcrafted to present intricate details.

“We are also working together with some of the best goldsmiths in Hong Kong to produce fine and detailed pieces,” Kow said, adding that some designs made in limited numbers.

The jeweller offers three signature collections.

The Dragon and Phoenix collection represents the eternal love and affection of the couple.

The Flower Blossom range symbolises the parents’ wishes for the couple to live a harmonious and blissful marriage, while The Sow of Abundance is bestowed on the bride by the older generation for an abundance of posterity.

Wah Chan also offers other symbolic collections such as Double Happiness, Endless Fortune and Eight Treasures.
