Environmental awareness: Shyribien (centre) presenting the sponsorship to Leong while others look on.

SIBU: The Junior Chamber International Sibu and Sibu Municipal Council are inviting students to participate in an eco-colouring contest in conjunction with this year’s Earth Hour.

Organising chairman Leong Chin Ming told a press conference yesterday that the entry forms were available at SugarBun (Gateway) Restaurant.

He said entries must be submitted before 5pm on Friday. The contest starts at 5pm Saturday at the gateway.

“We are targeting 200 students to take part. The contest is divided into two categories – A (Pri 1 to 3) and B (Pri 4 to 6),” he said.

The champion from each category will walk home with RM200, a trophy and a certificate. First runners-up get RM150, second runners-up RM100 while there are 10 consolation winners of RM30 each.

“The objective of the contest is to enhance environmental protection awareness of students through drawing and colouring,” he said.

SugarBun is sponsoring meal vouchers for the event. Its human resource manager, Shyribien Kadir, presented the items to Leong yesterday. – By ANDY CHUA
