Figures reveal that about 85% of budget hotels in Kuala Lumpur are illegal.
In a move to regulate illegal budget hotels in Kuala Lumpur, City Hall has given a six-month conditional license to the owners.
Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said they would have to make the necessary changes to abide by the requirements for a budget hotel, failing which the hotel would be forced to close.
